Menstrual Empowerment Ghana
Katrin Schreiber's fundraising page
According to UNICEF 95 % of girls living in rural communities in Ghana miss 20 % of school because they don’t have access to affordable sanitary pads. But the problem reaches far beyond Ghana. According to the World Bank, 500 mio. women worldwide have no access to affordable menstrual products.
I spoke to girls in Ghana and they told me about the challenges they face in getting affordable menstrual pads and breaking the taboo of menstruation, and as a strong advocate for equal rights for all people, regardless of their background or gender, I wanted to support this important initiative.
Together with our local NGO “Crimson Liberation Hub”, we want to tackle this challenge by ...:
- -Manufacturing and distributing high-quality, reusable and affordable sanitary pads in rural Ghana and beyond
- -Providing comprehensive menstrual health education
- -Engaging with communities to reduce the stigma around menstruation and empower girls in need to reach their full potential
Please support us in our mission to fight this problem and scale our impact!
